Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Purchasing Manager to oversee all procurement and supply chain operations for our luxury resort. This role is essential for ensuring a smooth operation by sourcing high-quality, sustainable goods and managing logistics in a remote island setting.

Job Description

Pre-opening:

1) Develop Procurement Strategy: Create and implement a detailed plan to source all necessary goods and services, ensuring alignment with the resort’s luxury and sustainability standards.

2) Supplier Sourcing & Negotiation: Identify, vet, and negotiate contracts with local and international suppliers to secure the best value for quality products.

3) Manage Inventory and OS&E: Plan and order initial inventory, including guest amenities, food and beverages, and operational supplies. Oversee the procurement of Operating Supplies & Equipment (OS&E) to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.

4) Coordinate Logistics: Manage delivery schedules and work with suppliers to ensure timely arrivals and quality control, accounting for island logistics.

5) Prioritize Sustainable Sourcing: Develop a strategy to prioritize eco-friendly and locally sourced products, and build relationships with local farmers and artisans.

Normal Operations:

1) Oversee Procurement & Inventory: Manage all regular procurement, ensuring timely delivery and optimal stock levels for all resort departments.

2) Maintain Supplier Relationships: Continue to foster strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing to ensure consistent quality and delivery.

3) Control Budget: Track spending against the procurement budget and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.

4) Manage Logistics: Coordinate and manage all deliveries, ensuring supplies arrive on time and in good condition.

5) Conduct Quality Audits: Perform regular quality checks on delivered items and conduct inventory audits to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications
1) Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

2) Experience: A minimum of 5 years in purchasing or procurement, with experience in a luxury hospitality, resort, or remote island setting. Experience with OS&E procurement and pre-opening is a strong advantage.

3) Skills: Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, expertise in inventory control, and knowledge of both local and international sourcing. Must have a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain management in challenging environments.

4) Attributes: A proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to quality and service. Must be a Thai National.
