GENERAL MISSION

- The Sales Manager’s mission is to primarily promote the hotel and to drive revenues through key sales initiatives and activities. To achieve optimal sales results across key market segments.
- The performance of the Sales Manager will be determined by the level of sales activities performed, the overall productivities of the leisure and group market segments as well as the overall results of the hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEANS

- The Sales Manager performs his/her duties within the framework defined by the chain and hotel norms and by internal regulations as specified by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Develop leisure based accounts and group business according to budget and market mix.
- Assist the Assistant Director of Sales and Director Of Sales & Marketing in preparing, implementing and compiling data for the leisure strategic sales plan, monthly reporting, annual goals, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.
- Surveying, reviewing and analyzing competition, market trends, customer needs and comments in leisure segment in order to be proactive and adapt with business intelligence.
- Achieving optimal sales results across wholesale, group and online market segments as well as groups for Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort & Spa.
- Ensuring market competitiveness and exceptional financial performance.
- Setting up sales calls, and sales trips as deemed necessary by DOSM.
- Responsible for account management and ongoing account development.
- Direct involved in key negotiations with clients
- Development and distribution of detailed proposals and contracts
- Follow-up and ensuring the hotel receives the expected volumes as stated by clients.


ADMINISTRATION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Manager: -
- Provides relevant information to assist in the development of sales & marketing plans in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Keeps a record on former, existing, potential clients and a profile on each of them.
- Organizes regular visits in accordance to a predetermined sales plan.
- Prepares a tentative monthly schedule to record all sales and other related activities for the preceding month.
- Presents a summary of his/her visits to the Director Of Sales & Marketing on a weekly basis (Weekly Sales Plan) prior to and after the week is completed.
- Attends daily briefing meetings and an end of week debriefing meeting.
- Ensures that all clients have no negative credit references and that payments are up to date.
- Records all daily sales calls and activities.
- Records the statistics of his/her accounts.
- Submits production reports on his/her list of accounts on a weekly basis.
- Updating of account pipelines highlighting key opportunities.
- Conducts group briefing to other staff when required.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- The Sales Manager is familiar with the operation and application of the hotel’s computer systems.

COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sales Manager: -
- Keeps himself/herself well informed about the operations especially in key departments (Revenue Management, Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Operations etc.)
- Closely observes matters pertaining to competition (sites, prices, services offered on a regular basis – quarterly or more often if need to be).
- Promotes the hotel as often as possible through entertaining, conducting site inspections and presentations etc. of the hotel.

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sales Manager: -
- Pays visits to former, existing and potential clients in view of entering into contracts with them.
- Defines precisely guest requirements and ensures that the guest services offered corresponds effectively to their requests.
- Provides after-sales service and in particular to ensure all client feedback / complaints are taken seriously and discussed with the respective departments if necessary.
- Negotiates prices with the clients.
- Confirms proposals in writing.
- Distributes contracts to the clients
- Ensures that all client complaints have initiated follow-up action.

PUBLIC RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES

- The Sales Manager organizes meetings with professional people especially clients & people in a position to help publicise the hotel.

DIRECT LIAISONS

- The Sales Manager is responsible to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

FUNCTIONAL LIAISONS

- The Sales Manager maintains contacts with all the other departments of the hotel and may have contact with management at the regional level.
