Main Working Relationships

Responsibilities


- Ensuring students receive the highest level of medical & health care with particular focus on the students who are most at-risk (marginalized communities/identities, refugee/displaced peoples, elite athletes, prior trauma, etc.) and/or are currently struggling or in crisis.
- Promote and protect the optimal health status of school age children
- Provide health assessments
- Develop and implement a student health plan for acute and chronic illness/policy
- Maintain accurate, consistent, confidential cumulative health data that accommodates individual needs of students
- Continuous development of and implementation of health safety and management protocols
- Provide for emergency nursing management for injuries and/or illnesses as per set procedures
- Assist in tracking and control of communicable diseases in the school community
- Participate in trainings and provision of health education to students as required
- Ensure proper digital and paper record management and clinic’s stock control
- Work within a shift pattern, provide week day, evenings, weekend and holiday nursing cover for the school & boarding house
- Accompany students to hospital and clinic appointments
- Adjust health and safety measures according to updated Thai and international school standards, as necessary
- Model positive and consistent attitudes and values in line with the UWC and IB expectations.
- Helping develop a community spirit that reflects the School’s ethos and engenders a sense of belonging amongst the students.
- Actively develop the mental and emotional wellness aspects of the School program that supports the proactive and preventative wellness of students.
- Other ancillary duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications

- Experience of working with students in a school & residential program environment
- Degree or equivalent qualification connected to the role: qualified registered nurse within Thailand
Valid Thai nursing license
- Car driving licence preferred
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills; additional languages are a plus
- Outstanding interpersonal skills: a good listener with a collaborative approach to work
- International mindedness and intercultural understanding
- Approachable and open-minded
- Honesty, integrity, and compassion
- Ability to develop a sense of community and generate trust with all constituent groups
